Hay House welcomes groups of all kinds – clubs, travel organizations, community groups – to experience one of Macon’s most celebrated historic landmarks. 

Group Tour Overview

Groups of 20 or more receive a special group rate, which includes a one-hour guided tour of the first three levels of the house. Knowledgeable docents lead guests through grand rooms, restored family spaces, and architectural highlights that define this National Historic Landmark.  

Key Details

  • Group Rate – Available for groups of 20+ guests. 
  • Tour Length – Approximately one hour, covering the first three levels. 
  • Large Groups – Groups may be divided into smaller sections and tour simultaneously to ensure comfort and flow. 
  • Gift Shop – Visitors often enjoy browsing the museum shop featuring local and custom made souvenirs and goods
  • Accessibility – Hay House offers limited handicap accessibility; wheelchair access is available through the gift shop entrance, but upper floors require stairs. 
  • Holiday and Spring Visits – Many groups choose to visit during the holidays, when the mansion is beautifully decorated for the season. Additionally, groups often visit during Macon’s annual Cherry Blossom Festival in the spring. Advance reservations recommended.

Tour & Dinner Experience

For Groups seeking an elevated evening at Hay House, the Tour & Dinner option combines architectural discovery with a memorable dining experience.

What’s included

  • Docent-Led Tour – Guests begins with a 30-40 minute guided tour, offering an intimate look at the mansion’s history, craftsmanship, and restored interiors.
  • Buffet-Style Dinner – following the tour, guests enjoy a catered buffet dinner served on the beautifully restored main level.
  • Elegant Atmosphere – Dining in the historic rooms of Hay House provides stunning views and a refined setting perfect for a special group outing. 

Booking Requirements & Scheduling

  • A minimum of 25 guests is required to book this event.
  • This event is offered upon availability weeknights only (Monday – Friday).
  • Groups may arrive as early as 4pm and no later than 6pm. 
  • Pricing – $80 + tax per person.

Hay House accepts bookings year-round and is often reserved up to two years in advance. It is essential to contact Hay House staff to confirm date availability.
